Very new to pirateboxing so please excuse my silly questions and ambitions. I am wanting to extend my range for wifi. I currently have the rasp pi 2 with a wipi which I quickly discovered has a short...

I installed PirateBox onto my Raspberry Pi 2, using the provided image for RPi2. I can SSH into PirateBox, I can reach the web interface using the IP, but I cannot load 'http://piratebox.lan' in the...

Was it working before the changes? Just set everything as you have, rebooted the box and everything is working as expected. Is it working with any other domain, try [example.com] when connected to the...
View ArticleRe: ambitious range
If it is a range extender, it just connects to the piratebox network and extends it, as far as I see this does not involve the PirateBox at all. Maybe try a WiFi stick with integrated antenna first...
View ArticleRe: piratebox.lan Inaccessible, But Works with IP Address
Once I had PirateBox running, I was only able to reach it with the IP. Trying "ssh alarm@alarmpi" did not work, either. Thought I did something wrong with the setup, so I re-imaged the microSD card....

Do you by any chance have a custom name server enabled in your network configuration? If so please disable it.

Moments before your update, I figured it out, and was about to post my update. You are indeed correct! I have Google's IPs setup for my DNS: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. Upon removing these entries, it is...

Exactly. The SD card is connected via card reader to the build system. Once the build is dumped to the SD, the Arduino deactivate the USB lines, and instead activates the lines from sd to the RPi's SD...

Ooh, I'll take the robot arm please! :) But I guess it's gonna be a fight with my private secretary of finance at home to find a good reason why I'd need a robot arm to change SD cards. :D
