do you mean a copy of another page, like wired.com ?

>> Secondly, is there a way of extracting chat and photos from piratebox to a master device simply?
chat no, uploads yes. If you follow the howto, you will find out, that you can use USB or the SDCard for storing the files.

1) I work in a night club and would like to try have my piratebox showing events and mixes

2) Followed the instructions have an sd card and usb but think I'll have to start again as my laptop says I have to format them before use! But probably just because I did it wrong will stay over tomorrow!

Thank you for taking the time to reply #;-)

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure myself! It's been a few weeks since I actually messed with the pirate box and I've just now had enough time to get on here to inquire. Sorry about the confusion, I'll try to set the box up in the next day or so and clarify what is happening!

Well I downloaded the Arch linux (the pre-installed file). I got it to work just fine. But skimming the pages of this websight I found you can use Raspian.... I was excited to hear this news. I jumped on this little project of typing away. blah blah blah. long story short the usb command..

echo "/dev/sda1 /mnt/usbdrive vfat umask=0,noatime,rw,user 0 0" >> /etc/fstab
mkdir -p /mnt/usbdrive
mount /mnt/usbdrive
mv /opt/piratebox/share/Shared /mnt/usbdrive
ln -s /mnt/usbdrive/Shared /opt/piratebox/share
# move kareha stuff as well
mv /opt/piratebox/share/board/src /mnt/usbdrive/kareha_uploads
ln -s /mnt/usbdrive/kareha_uploads /opt/piratebox/share/board/src

Works great in arch. But I cant get it to work for raspian.:(...

P.s Im new to this forum thing. and linux.... Please help :)

the same should work on raspbian, too. Are you sure, that the PirateBox itself s working correctly? Or are you sure that is only a storage issue?

Hi,

LB-Link WirelessUSB Adapter, 150Mbps (Model: BL-LW05-5R1) works out of the box). Many thanks for PB-development - nice stuff!

I ordered this one at conrad.de and get the one above. Don't know why. It works.

I have just a question.
How can i resolve the problem of permission with
" failed to preserve ownership for '/mnt/usbdrive/Shared/HEADER.txt': Operation not permitted "

Thanks you

don't worry about that error. if your usb stick is FAT32, you can set another ownership.
As the script assumes you have a linux-based filesystem, it tries and fails to change to ownership.

Pi(rate) box on Pi2B

Hello,

I've tried to install a Pi(rate) Box on my newly acquired RPi2B, but it doesn't boot at all.
Nothing, nada, just a black screen.

I see the sd card led flashing once right at the beginning but nothing else than a black screen after.

Did someone have a successful installation on a RPi2B ?

The SD Card image is for the RaspberryPi 1 only - not for RPi2
Both have different architecture, so that I have to prepare a new image for the RPi2

Sorry for that,

regards Matthias

Thanks Matthias, no need to rush on that.
