how to recognize hard drive

I have a problem,
when I enter the third command of the article USB FAT-Storage (mount / mnt / usbdrive)
The console sends me this error message : mount: special device /dev/sda1 does not exist

my hard drive is the Samsung M3 Portable 1TB
