Re: 'enable piratebox' doesn't seem to work

Okay, first of all: log in
If you didn't login before that, the username:password is root:root
If the login works, some instructions should appear on screen (I'm assuming that you are working in some terminal-like environment, ssh for example)
Now, do what the instructions say
Reboot and, if still not working, run

systemctl status piratebox.service

and post the output.
Additionally, what components are you using, what is the output of

lsusb
ifconfig

? Please post that as well.
