Hi,
technical, there is no restriction on the ethernet port. The issue is, that the upload box is an iframe pointing to the following URL

Language: PHP
http://piratebox.lan:8080

This URL can't be found inside a normal network. You can still access the upload feature using this url

Language: PHP
http://<you RPi LAN IP>:8080

(exchange <you RPi LAN IP> with the IP of the RPi in your local network)
