Re: Partition questionning

Hi,
thanks for splitting the topics :) (tu)

I created that howto here [www.piratebox.cc] to describe the process of creating an additional partition, but of course you can resize the root partition, if you want to.
I'm guessing that you resized the partition itself correct, but after that- did you run a filesystem resize command?

regards Matthias

resize2fs ? Yes I did!
So everything should be fine I hope :).
The difference between my way and your howto, is you are creating a new one whereas I expanded the previous, right?

Empty /opt/piratebox/www/board/config.pl and Kareha files not found

Hi,

I installed the image of Piratebox on my raspberry + B following the guide, and everything worked perfectly until the activation of kareha, but when I type:

vi /opt/piratebox/www/board/config.pl

the file is empty or perhaps is not present (the editor shows me a blank screen).
If I try to type http: //piratebox.lan/board/kareha.pl the browser shows me the screen to download the file.

I realized that if I try to transfer files on the USB stick, as suggested here:
http://piratebox.cc/raspberry_pi:mods
when I type
mv /opt /piratebox/share/board/src/mnt/usbdrive/kareha_uploads
the error is:
"mv: can not stat '/ opt / piratebox / share / board / src': No such file or directory".

The image that I downloaded with torrent is: [downloads.piratebox.de].

Can you help me to activate kareha?
Thanks

Mising imageboard files in ArchLinuxARM-2014.10-PirateBox1.0.2_rpi_1.0.1.img.zip

Hi,

unfortunately, I made a mistake while composing the image for 1.0.2 and I forgot to bring the kareha zip file in place.
I noticed that, while I fixed another PirateBox on Transmediale.

I'll post a howto for installing the kareha board on that image tomorrow.

I'm very sorry, for not finding it out much earlier.

best regards Matthias

HowTo get the imageboard working?

Make sure, when you run the "install_piratebox.sh" command, to put all the parameters in one line (it is very long and may look different on small screens).

If your RaspberryPi is hooked up at your network and has a working internet connection, then you should do:
* Login to your RapsberryPi using SSH or sitting in front of it
* Run the following command to install the imageboard
/opt/piratebox/bin/install_piratebox.sh /opt/piratebox/conf/piratebox.conf imageboard
Then the installation should run as normal and you can proceed changing the ADMIN_PASS & SECRET.

If your RaspberryPi doesn't have internet, you can do the following steps:
* Download the kareha.zip on your normal computer. This is the link kareha_3.1.4.zip - Leave the filename as it is, because a script will make a test on it later.
* Connect your computer to the PirateBox wifi network
* Use PirateBox upload feature to bring the kareha_3.1.4.zip to the PirateBox
* run the following commands
mv /opt/piratebox/share/Shared/kareha_3.1.4.zip /opt/piratebox/tmp
/opt/piratebox/bin/install_piratebox.sh /opt/piratebox/conf/piratebox.conf imageboard

After this, the installation of the imageboard should run straight through and you can continue with changing the SECRET & ADMIN_PASS

I noticed yesterday, that the kareha install files are missing on the latest image file.
See this thread for further information (and a howto).

Sorry for that,

Hi,

I have a problem with my USB Wifi Adapter (TP-Link TL-WN822N) or with his driver. At the beginning of the Post-Installation ,when I turn on my raspberry pi ,there isn't the SSID “PirateBox: Share freely” (my WIFI adapter is connected but the indicator light does not light and my ethernet cable is is disconnected).

Can you help me please ?

Thanks

unfortunately, TPLink exchanged the internal chip to a "cheaper" one, which is not as good as supported as the previous versions.
Checkout this forum thread, it might help you to set it up [forum.piratebox.cc]

btw: I also added a note on the "supported device" page.

When attempting to initiate the kareha imageboard by going to [piratebox], I get this

I defined both ADMIN_PASS and SECRET in config.pl, yet the message still comes up.

EDIT: The problem has been solved, I just uncommented both lines for ADMIN_PASS and SECRET in config.pl, now config_defaults.pl sees them.

Can PiBox coexist with XBMC/Kodi on Pi2?

I want a piratebox basedvsyatem. I also want it to do other things when not acting as a server.

The media center:
Kodi-based (openelec, rbmc/OSMP, rasbian, Debian. Not picky so long as it works tolerably well at 720p.)
Raspberry pi b2.
DVD drive.
TV tuner USB card.

Is there a way I can make something Rasbian, openelec, or any other kodi based system also able to run piratebox (even if I have to go in some setting to turn off WiFi and turn on the server?)

Even with the Pi2's quad core processor and added ram is this asking too much?

Hi,
that should work, but you need to setup the scripts for PirateBox on the Raspbian for yourself. .. well at least I can't see a reason why it shouldn't ;)

Windows 8 Connectivity Issues

$

I've just finished setting up my first PirateBox using my Raspberry Pi which just came in today. It took me a bit to get it figured out because I had to switch drivers for my Wifi adapter I bought, but I got it working. My friends computers all connect fine, and so do our tablets, but for some reason my Windows 8 laptop will not connect to it. I've looked around online and haven't found any solution, does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Is there a known issue with Windows 8?

Thanks!
